Lawrence Dunlap is Founder of The Dunlap Group, (TDG) a global consulting firm that partners with socially thoughtful brands through strategic marketing initiatives and creative consumer driven events. Prior to forming The Dunlap Group, Mr. Dunlap worked as a Senior Executive for Sony Music Entertainment, assisting in the management of over $100 million of revenue for Sony Music’s national retail accounts while building a roster of artist under his Dunlap Management Enterprise label working with artist such as John Legend. Mr. Dunlap has served as consultant with some of the leading hospitality and luxury fashion brands providing experiential marketing and brand management campaigns.
Recently, Mr. Dunlap was afforded the opportunity to serve as consultant for Colom Investment in Tanzania, assisting with developing a market strategy to increase brand awareness for boutique hotels in Tanzania. The position also allowed Mr Dunlap to assist The Colom Foundation in collaboration with the Tanzania Law Society to provide Tanzanian lawyers the opportunity for training in the United States at the University of Mississippi. Ultimately, this wonderful opportunity has reshaped Mr. Dunlap’s vision of identifying emerging markets within the African Diaspora and providing ways to showcase the abundant opportunities that exist on the Continent.
Mr. Dunlap credits his upbringing in Harlem, New York as his early introduction to community engagement and youth empowerment, which lead him to work with the New York City Department of Education providing education excellence and implementing Restorative Practices to enhance student attendance and addressing mental heath. Mr. Dunlap received his BA from City College, City University of New York (CUNY) and is a member of several national and global non profits in need of fundraising assistance.
